So long 2018, Hello 2019!

As we wind down 2018, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our many community members , elected officials and agency representatives that stood up, once again, to Tonawanda Coke’s pollution to #STOPTHESTACKS once and for all. We are all still getting accustomed to the idea that we will no longer have to endure this company’s threat to the air we breath. Our community received the the best gift of all in 2018, “ A Gift of Clean Air”.

As we move into 2019, we have much in store. In the aftermath of TCC’s closure, we’ll be continuing our collaborations to assess the impacts of this company’s pollution in our environment . In 2018, we developed a soil sampling toolkit with our members. We will also be working alongside our local libraries with a plan to offer folks an opportunity to borrow our “kits” to sample their own gardens and play areas for environmental toxins.

In 2018, we asked our members what programs they’d like to see developed in our education center. Soil, air and water toolkits, environmental health education classes, and K-12 education were the top three. We’ll be working hard to bring these programs to you in 2019. However, we cant do it without financial support. Please consider donating to help make our vision become a reality.
